Dominique Bowers, 37, was found fatally shot by police at her Warner Robins home on Friday. The victim, Dominique Bowers, was found dead by officers at a Warner Robins home around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
At the time officers were dispatched to the scene, they were also told that a 911 dispatcher was speaking on the phone “with the possible suspect” in connection with a report of the shooting, Warner Robins police said in a statement from press published on the department’s Facebook page.
Warner Robins police confirmed the boy was the killer in a statement posted on Facebook.
Dominique Bowers, age 37 of Warner Robins, is identified as the victim of the murder that occurred yesterday on the Adirondac Way. Ms. Bowers is the mother of the 13-year-old who was taken into custody, ”the statement said. “The minor is charged with murder and aggravated assault. This morning a first appearance with the minor was held in Houston County Superior Court. The minor is being held at the Crisp County Juvenile Detention Center. ”

Authorities have not disclosed the motive or circumstances that led to the shooting. The teen murder suspect is being held at the Crisp County Juvenile Detention Center.
Several Facebook users reacted to the post, with one person commented: “What a heartbreaking tragedy. God, bring comfort and peace to everyone involved. Rest in love, Dominique. ”
Another said of the tragedy: “Thankful for our officers who keep our community safe. This is a sad event and it could happen in any city in the US Warner Robins has more crime because our population has grown. Our council has work to do, but they are not responsible for all the crimes that occur. I am a native and I can tell you that we have some wonderful public servants who deserve our support. ”
A third added: “It is very sad that young people do not take into account the sanctity of life. Praying for everyone involved and the family. ”
A 13-year-old Georgia boy is in custody and charged with murder after police allege he shot dead his mother, a 37-year-old Navy veteran, and then called 911.
Police located and arrested the 13-year-old away from the home where the victim was found.
Authorities did not release any information about what may have led to the alleged shooting, or whether the mother and son shared the residence.
The teen suspected of the shooting, who was not identified by police, made an initial appearance in Houston County Superior Court on Saturday and is being held at the Crisp County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.
The minor is charged with murder and aggravated battery.
It was not immediately clear if he pleaded guilty or hired an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
