Killed His Girlfriend Son
Edwin Urbina, of Morristown, NJ, was charged this week in connection with the death of his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son.
Patch reports that officers went to a hospital on Friday after a child was beaten at the Oyo Hotel in East Hanover that same day. When they arrived, they found a 3-year-old boy, Liam, deceased. Police said the boy’s mother, Krystal Straw, was not at the hotel when the boy was injured. Urbina was supposed to take care of him, police said.
Urbina allegedly told Straw to erase information from his phone and protect him when asked by investigators about the boy’s death. Straw then took her son to Morristown Medical Center, where medical staff eventually contacted police because the boy was in complete cardiac arrest.
Charged & Arrested
According to the East Hanover Police Department, Urbina arrived at the Morris County Administration Building and turned himself in. He remains behind bars for murder, endangering the welfare of a child, and charges of tampering with witnesses and evidence.
