Prewitt said his late scholarly cousin was artistic and tech-savvy and had dozens of books in his room. A dictionary was open next to him when the shots were heard, AL.com reported.
“This was a very bright and intelligent young man, and they took away his future,” Prewitt said. “He was in the safest place possible: at home. He wasn’t a street kid. ”
