Mario Henderson Wiki – Biography
Mario Henderson was an American football offensive tackle. He spent the first four years of his career with the Oakland Raiders, after being selected from Florida State in the 2007 NFL Draft.
Henderson originally attended Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, FL. Henderson was a 375-pound freshman who’d never played football. His first year of football was his Senior year.
After his sophomore year, Henderson transferred to Lehigh Senior High School. Due to transfer rules, he was not able to play during his junior year. He used that time to change his physique and, in his senior year, earned a scholarship to Florida State University. His senior year, he averaged 28 points per game and 14 rebounds, and was 1st team all state and 1st team all county as a member of Lehigh Senior basketball team.
Henderson is a Lehigh grad and Florida State Alum. He was selected by the Raiders with the 91st overall pick in the 2007 draft and spent four seasons with the team, starting 28 games, including the entire 2009 season.
Following his four-year rookie contract with the Raiders, Henderson signed on with the Chargers, but didn’t make the team out of camp and didn’t appear in another NFL game. He instead played several years of semi-pro football until 2015.
On March 17, 2011, Henderson was arrested in Fort Myers for the charge of carrying a concealed firearm.

Career
After starting only one year his senior year, Henderson was selected by the Raiders in the third round of the 2007 draft. In his second year, he started several games at left tackle in place of injured veteran Kwame Harris, and was the Raiders’ full-time left tackle in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
The 6’7″, 333-pound Henderson spent the first four years of his career with the Oakland Raiders after being selected from Florida State University in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played with the Raiders until 2010 before signing a one-year deal with the San Diego Chargers in 2012. He was released during training camp and went on to play with various teams in the UFL and AFL.
Prior to that, he played football at Lehigh Senior and Bishop Verot high schools.
Cause of Death
Mario Henderson, a Southwest Florida native and former NFL offensive tackle, has died at 35, according to Lehigh Senior High School football coach James Chaney.

A cause of death has not been revealed, but Henderson died just days from his 36th birthday.
