In May this year, a Washington man killed a homeless man “as a practice” a few months before he shot and killed his ex-wife. According to prosecutor Dale Nagy, the murder suspect shot the homeless man in the head in April 2020. The victim’s body was reportedly found in an alley in Spokane in Washington state. Four months later, the suspect, identified as Nathan Beal, was charged with premeditated murder for killing his ex-wife Mary Schaffer in August 2020. Prosecutor Nagy alleged in court on Friday, May 7, that Beal had shot the homeless man, identified as Andrew Michael Bull, 30, at the helm on April 3, 2020. Nagy claimed authorities “believe that the murder (of Bull) was carried out by Beal as a practice.” Beal had originally been arrested on August 8, 2020, killing 32-year-old Schaffer, and has since been charged with first-degree murder. He remains in custody on a $ 1 million bond but has not yet been charged in connection with Bull’s death, according to online court records. Spokesman-Review, which released the story about Nagy’s allegations, also wrote that the prosecutor had alleged in court last week that Beal became a suspect in Bull’s murder after a jail informant came forward saying that Beal admitted it. The informant claimed that Beal had admitted that he shot Bull because he was “curious”, adding that he went to “practice”.
