Agnes Akom Missing & Found Dead
Human remains have been found in the search for Agnes Akom, who has been missing since 9 May. Officers made the discovery at Neasden Recreation Ground, northwest London, about two miles from the 20-year-old’s home in Cricklewood Broadway. Official identification has not yet been made but the family of Ms. Akom, a Hungarian national, has been told of the development.
Agnes, known as “Dora”, is a Hungarian national who moved to the UK three years ago. She left her home address in the Cricklewood Broadway area of Camden on May 9 and was reported missing two days later. She was not seen or heard from since the day of her disappearance.
Detective chief inspector Neil John, the senior investigating officer from the Met’s Specialist Crime North, said officers will remain in the area for some days as part of the investigation.
He added: “The discovery of human remains by my colleagues searching the area is both shocking and deeply disturbing for everyone concerned, in particular for Agnes’s family who continue to be supported by specialist officers. I request that their privacy is respected as this very difficult time.
I expect my team and forensic colleagues to remain at Neasden Recreation Park for some days to come as they maintain the scene and complete their site examinations.
“I would like to thank the local community for their patience as we continue with our inquiries in the recreation ground.”
Neasden Recreation Ground has been one of the main areas of focus throughout the search for Agnes. Officers have also been deployed to Welsh Harp Reservoir, Lennox Auto Car Showroom, and Park Royal and Holland Parkas as part of the investigation.
Charged With Her Murder
Neculai Paizan, 63, was arrested on May 18, in connection with Agnes’ disappearance, before being charged with her murder on May 23. Officers made the discovery at Neasden Recreation Ground, northwest London, about two miles from the 20-year-old’s home in Cricklewood Broadway.
