Von Miller is an American football outside linebacker for the Denver Broncos linebacker is reportedly under a criminal investigation in Colorado. The nature of the investigation into the linebacker has not been released and no charges have been filed against him.

Miller played college football at Texas A&M, where he earned consensus All-American honors and was awarded the Butkus Award as the most outstanding college linebacker in the nation. He was drafted by the Broncos second overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. Considered among the best defenders in the league, he is an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, receiving second-team All-Pro honors as a rookie. At the conclusion of the 2015 NFL season, Miller was named Super Bowl MVP after the Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. He has also appeared on season 22 of the American television show Dancing with the Stars.


Von Miller is 31-years-old.

Von Miller Has Not Charged & Investigation

Miller, 31, has not been charged and the nature of the investigation has not been released.

“The case is currently under investigation, and no information can be released at this time,” the Parker Police Department said in a statement to PEOPLE. “If the investigation determines a crime has occurred, charges will be submitted to the DA’s Office for their review.”

Parker police did not have a timeframe on the investigation when asked by PEOPLE.

The Broncos issued a statement on Friday saying they are “aware” of the investigation and are “in the process of gathering more information,” ESPN reported.

The Broncos and reps for Miller did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment Friday.

In 2013, Miller was suspended for six games after violating the league’s substance abuse policy, ESPN reported. That same year, an arrest warrant was issued when he failed to appear in court for traffic violations.

After his suspension that year, Miller said he was “working hard to gain trust back.”

The athlete missed the 2020 season due to an ankle injury and is currently on the final year of his six-year contract with the Broncos.
