A 15-year-old boy was charged with the murder of an 18-year-old man after the victim was found stabbed to death on the streets of East London.

The boy, who cannot be identified due to his age, is due to appear before the judges in Barkingside on Monday, Scotland Yard reported.

Kamran Khalid, 18, was found shortly before 4 a.m. with multiple stab wounds on Harrow Road, Ilford. Thursday by police responding to reports of a brawl.

Half an hour later he was immediately pronounced dead.

Investigators said they believed several people were present when Khalid was stabbed.

Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who leads the murder investigation, said Thursday, “We are currently in the early stages of our investigation and are working swiftly and diligently to determine the circumstances that led to the death of this young man.

“An arrest was made, but we believe that several people were present at the time the victim was murdered and that we need to identify them.

“The altercation took place in the middle of the night and while I know there will be few people on the streets at this point, I look forward to hearing from everyone who witnessed the events that led to the murder. including.

Said Chief Superintendent Paul Trevers of the Met’s East Zone Command at the time, “We are deeply saddened that another young life has been lost to a knife crime, and we understand the impact of local residents tasting this terrible news.
