The sword and meat cleaver were recovered from the home and police suspect they were used to kill Mrs. Eagers, according to the Irish Mirror.

Neighbors also raised the alarm after hearing loud noises coming from Mrs. Eagers’s house and police arrived shortly before noon.
The alleged attacker was injured during a struggle with police and was taken to the hospital after being arrested.
According to the Irish Independent, the suspect is Mrs. Eagers’s taxi driver husband, William Eagers.
Her body was later removed to the City Morgue where a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out this morning.

Police had to force their way into the home after looking inside and seeing Mrs. Eagers injured but finding the door barricaded, according to the Irish Sun.
Paramedics tried to save Mrs. Eagers’s life at her Willow Wood home but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene remained preserved on Sunday evening as examinations by members of the Garda Technical Bureau continued.
Ireland’s garda police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Dublin politician Ruth Coppinger said the community in the Hartstown area was ‘in mourning’ after Mrs. Eagers’s death.
‘My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Jean Eagers,’ she said.
Local councilor Daniel Whooley said: ‘It is absolutely horrible that an incident like this has taken place. I was shocked to hear of the incident and it is awful to think that someone has died in such a manner.
‘I never expected something like that to happened around this area. From what I gather from speaking to a number of the locals around the area, we are all a bit shocked.’
A source also told the Irish Mirror tonight that Jean’s son Dillion, who is in his early 20s, partially witnessed the attack and rushed to the neighbors for help before gardai arrived at the scene.

A number of locals said they heard loud bangs coming from the area as gardai arrived on the scene and initially thought they may have been gunshots.
Shouts were also heard from the house before an arrest was made.
Gardai at Blanchardstown have begun a murder investigation.
Stunned locals lined the streets of the housing estate and spoke of their shock at the killing.
She had worked in the local Marks and Spencers store in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and had been off for the last few days.
A colleague, who did not want to be named, said Jean had last been in work on Tuesday and was looking forward to getting her hair done after going months without seeing a hairdresser due to the coronavirus lockdown.
It’s understood her sister-in-law also works at the same store.
A neighbor said: “It’s not something you would expect here. It’s normally a very quiet street”
Gardai said in a statement: “Gardaí in Blanchardstown is investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a 57-year-old woman following an incident in a house in Hartstown on Sunday, 21 June 2020.
“At approximately 11.30 have Gardaí attended the scene of an incident at a house on Willow Wood Grove, Hartstown where a 57-year-old woman was discovered with serious injuries.
“The injured woman was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel but was pronounced dead a short time later.
“A 60-year-old man was arrested at the scene and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
“The scene was preserved and an examination led by members of the Garda Technical Bureau is continuing.
“The body of the deceased has since been removed to the City Morgue where a post-mortem examination will be carried out on Monday morning by the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Kathleen Han.
“An incident room has been established at Blanchardstown Garda station, a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to the case, and a Garda family liaison officer has been assigned.
“Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station 01 666 7000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
“Investigations are ongoing and further updates will follow.”
